ID-NET TEAM ACTIVITY
(8/3/2006) NEW HAVEN – The Police Department’s Information Driven Neighborhood Enforcement Team (ID-NET) has made two more drug arrests in the Hill and Dwight areas of the city.
According to Lieutenant Peter Reichard, officer in charge, Officer Jeffery Goodwin, while making a traffic stop at the corner of Chapel Street and Day Street for loud music, arrested Marquis Best, 24, of 125 Greenwich Avenue for possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school. He was found with 13 oxycodone pills in his possession without a prescription. Police also seized a 1999 Chrysler Sebring vehicle.
In the Hill section of the city, Officers Rose Turney and Elsa Berrios observed a drug transaction at Washington Avenue and King Place, which resulted in the arrest of Leon Knight, 28, of 12 Sheldon Terrace. Knight was charged with sale of narcotics, sale of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school.
